MAG Open Beta: Initial Impressions

Jan 8th, 2010 | By leimrod | Category: Games

After a rather odd download and install sequence of this Beta demo (required a ~40MB PS Store download, then an install, then another ~40MB download when the game launched, then another install, then a last ~1800MB download with a final install) I got into the game for the first time and… the servers where down. On the fly: Bionic Commando

Jun 2nd, 2009 | By leimrod | Category: Games

Here’s another one of my “updated as I play it” reviews. You can’t read that name without trying to say it in a dramatic voice. The first thing my better half said when this game arrived in the post was “What is this game? Is it something from the 80′s? Has to be, with a [...]

Look what just arrived in the post

Apr 14th, 2009 | By leimrod | Category: Tech and the Net

My new Sega Saturn Pads… Alright, they aren’t really actual “Sega” pads, more like very, very good knock-offs from China that I bought off ebay. As the days rolled by indecision set in and I realized I didn’t just want a controller for fight games, I wanted one I could also use with a laptop to play ROMs of old SNES and Sega platformers while commuting somewhere.

I could of went with Mario, but Sonic seemed newer, faster and more edgy than an overweight, slow, mustached Italian. I’ve never looked back. My first experience with Sonic was Sonic the Hedgehog [...]

Crysis: Warhead – Taking HD Screenshots & other tips

Oct 18th, 2008 | By leimrod | Category: Games

If you’re a gamer and you haven’t heard of Crysis then hang your head in shame. Sure it might not have the best gameplay or story, but graphically it can’t be touched by anything on this generation of consoles. If you have a rig that can run it with all the bells and whistles enabled [...]

The Prince of Persia game series

Oct 12th, 2008 | By leimrod | Category: Games

Recently this trailer for the new Prince of Persia (PoP) installment has really got my hyped about it’s upcoming release. (btw, the song is this trailer is Breath Me by Sia, I think it’s perfect)
